I don’t think I have mentioned to you how Michael has been teaching himself welding. He is enjoying learning a new skill. Because he has so much free time.
This trailer is one of his first projects with the ever improving welding skill.
I don’t have any “before” pictures so I’ll have to try to explain in words.
Do you see where the tire is on the trailer? The “before trailer” ended at the tire, it was a short little trailer with a tank, engine and pump. It must have been used as a tow behind sprayer. Michael thought it would be great to have a utility trailer to tow behind the mower. Something he could put his tools in and take to the location of his next project or haul away limbs during pruning season.
The boys removed all the old stuff from the frame and Michael welded stuff here and he welded stuff there (am I being too technical?) Then he added the wood to keep junk important tools from falling out.
Voila. A wagon trailer.
Everyone is enjoying it. The boys like taking turns riding in it or driving it.
The goats think it is their newest play thing.
Halle has claimed it as her own. Most likely she is looking for food. Once she figures out she can’t eat the tools, she will no longer be interested in it.
Michael is using it to teach the boys how to back up a trailer.
I think my husband is amazing. The man just can’t be still. Until evening. Then he is still while sleeping in front of the tv.
Did you know we are now adding two whole minutes of daylight to each day?
Enjoy the extra daylight,
Karen
Love it. And I’m jealous of all that free time that Michael has. LOL!!! That trailer will be put to good use for sure! Have a great day Karen.
He really loves doing all this stuff….especially learning new skills.
Take care friend,
Karen
We just love to follow the quantum speed increase in the works of your hands. Amazing!
It always helps when we are all working on the same project.
Praying that all is well with the both of you.
Hugs,
Karen
Awe that’s awesome! What a great idea to teach the boys how to back up a trailer and start them on it early in life. I sure wish I would have had that lesson at their age. I just cannot seem to get the hang of it.
Michael is a great driver and I think a lot of it was working on the ranch at a young age. Also, all the four-wheeling he did as a teenager (nearly killed him) taught him alot. I am hoping our boys will be better drivers with everything they are driving on the farm
Glad to see Jon home from the hospital.
Have a great (even though rainy) day,
Karen
I loved the welding project, the goats. those are some Grandpa aand Uncle Randy and Uncle Larry genes in you. I am sooo proud of you being our son, Michael, Karen, being our daughter-in-law, and those 2 fine sons you are raising. They might be almost as amazing as our 2 sons. The “geese home for breakfast”…LOL…smile on my face and in my heart. It is 6 a.m.(surprise). I just looked up to see, shining through the trees and through beautiful, wispy clouds, a full moon. It seemed surreal and as perfect as those perfect eggs. God gives us soooo many perfect gifts.
Love,
Mom, Karren and Grandma
There is definitely a lot of learning that happens here.
I had a beautiful walk to the barn this morning at 6:45, nice big full moon.
Enjoy your day,
Karen
What a valuable new skill to learn! You are great parents! The trailer and the mower look like such a fun toy to play with and very functional at the same time. Enjoy your longer days.

So great to hear from you. I’ve wondered how you are doing.
Yes, the welding is a great thing to know. The boys are learning so much. I’m the teacher of school stuff and Michael is the teacher of practical skills.
It is a good thing. How are your goats doing?
Have a great weekend.
Karen
