On Friday a nice family from Battleground Washington came down and bought Storm and Randy.
It was really hard to see them go. I’m so grateful that they both went to the same home. I don’t think I would have sold them to two different homes.
Because they are boys most farms don’t keep them. It doesn’t make financial sense. We advertised them as pets and brush eaters. The family that took them have ten acres and a lot of horses. Their two daughters are three and six years old and already ride in the rodeo.
They currently have a four year old wether that just lost his brother so Randy and Storm will have a new friend.
We miss them but pray that they will adjust quickly.
Farm life is hard. Hug your animals today.

Advertising them as pets and brush eaters is an excellent idea. It’s true that it doesn’t make financial sense to keep all the males. They have to be fed, cared for, and need pasture. Most folks would rather keep the females, of course. I’m so glad they went together. That’s always a relief for those of us selling goats.
It is so easy to get attached to them and then you have to sell them. We have another one (a three year old) that we just love to death and he had to be castrated because of a genetic condition. Can’t keep him either but I know he is going to a wonderful home. Life on the farm can be very emotional.
Take care,
Karen
breaks my heart, puts a lump in my throat, but I was raised on a farm and knows how that goes. I will tell this story again. When we 4 kids(my brothers and sister) were in high school and younger, we had a pet cow named Flower. .when we discovered we were eating her meat, we rebelled and would not eat the meat!! Farm life makes for some good memories and stories of real life. It is a great teaching tool.
God bless,
Karren
Yes, very hard. Both Michael and I teared up.
Just very grateful that they know each other.
It would be nice to have an update but I don’t expect it.
Hugs,
Karen
Karen try not to think the worst because you never know how those 2 boys will influence and carry on and stay positive that you and your family are passing on great traditions that can make a difference.
Thanx Lucy,
I know your right. Thanx for the kind words.
Have a great day,
Karen
Oh Karen. So sorry you had to say goodbye. I’m sure it was hard on your boys too. I’m so glad they could go to the same family. XO
It is so hard. Tomorrow, Calvin will go to a new home and that will be even harder. He us such a love bug.
Thanx for following along,
Karen
Aww such cuties! I’m so glad they went to a good home together and they have a new friend waiting for them! I’m sure it was hard but that must make it an easier pill to swallow.
Yes, there are very cute. I’m bummed to not be able to see them grow up but I think that by now they should be all adjusted and enjoying their new home.
Have a great day,
Karen
