So sweet. Jon and Hudson just saw some newborn baby goats where Hudson goes to get physical therapy yesterday. I think they are having the goats as pets to work with the clients. Jon said at first he (Hudson!!!) was scared, but then he liked them. He said the goats jump so HIGH, especially as they are tiny! Thanks for the cute pics. Karen!
Goats are unbelievably delightful. Very sweet if you handle them a lot as babies. Love to be around their owners.
Not really happy when you come up on them when they are pooping. I’ve been collecting fecal samples this week.
My life!
Wait a sec. . . Are those the ones that were just born last month? They are so big and stocky looking. Holy cow (or should I say “Holy Goat”?) they have grown. I thought you had only two. Where did number three come from? Is this the Hale’s kid? They are adorable!
Yes, it is confusing. We have actually started calling them the “adolescents”.
These are the kids we got back in December from Bryn. They are Calvin’s babies.
The stockiness comes from the line that they come from. If you look at pictures of Brown Sugar, she looks more delicate and comes from a line that is like that.
Even now while in milk and getting a lot of calories from grain she isn’t bulking up at all. All those calories are going to milk production.
No, Halle hasn’t had her babies yet. Yes, I’m now saying baby in plural. Since she didn’t have a kid at the beginning of May we assume she is due sometime in the first half of June.
This would be the result of the “Love Shack” month. Which means we don’t know specifically when she was bred so we don’t have a hard due date. Leave it to Halle to keep us all guessing.
So, based on her size we think, for the first time, she will have more than one kid. We could be wrong so we will see.
Cute! We visited some family goats last weekend. Goats are fun!
Yes, they are super friendly. Ours climb all over us when we are sitting.
They are great and we are glad we have them.
Take care,
Karen
