It has been a really busy two weeks. I’m very behind on posting updates.
We started on March 15 with Brown Sugar giving birth to THREE baby boys.
Here are some pictures of them at four days old.
(Remember, if you click on any picture it enlarges them)
You don’t think I could only show you four.
Then, of course, there was Ramblin Rose and her adorable baby boys. You received that post on Saturday, March 26 but I actually wrote it on March 20. So busy, I forgot to post it!
Besides having all these goats pregnant and due at any time, Michael also had to go to South Dakota for four days. He left home at 2:30 a.m. to catch a 5:30 flight. He didn’t realize, until he arrived at the airport, that he was flying out on spring break. A LOT OF PEOPLE.
While Michael was gone we had some visitors. My parents came down on Monday to see Brown Sugar’s babies. I made them one of our favorite dinners and enjoyed our time together.
Tuesday I needed to get Brown Sugar’s babies to the vet to have them disbudded. You might remember when we did that with Jessie and Randy. Well, I really don’t know my way around very well. To get to the vet, you have to cross the ferry. Well, when I got there it was closed due to high water. I thought I would go through Salem but when I tried, the stupid GPS had me going in circles back to the ferry. After the second time, in tears, I called Joshua and asked him to call the vet and cancel the appointment. I have since bought a map.
Wednesday our dear friend Bryn and her lovely sister Lisa came down to see the babies. We had a lovely time together playing with babies, eating and chatting.
Thursday was a play date that I set up for the boys. It also happened to coincide with Oreo giving birth. You’re going to have to wait for that story though, dinner calls.
I hope you had a great Easter.
Hugs, Karen
PS: I have some great video I want to show you but I need Michael to get it off of the camcorder.
As I’ve said before, no dull moments On the Banks of Salt Creek! congrats on more baby goats, and the purchase of a map. A GPS is the very best and worst invention ever!!! Will look forward to hearing about MORE baby goats! xo
Not a fan of GPS. I actually think it dumbs us down.
I was in outside sales for 12 years and always used a map (Thomas Guide). Maps help you understand the big picture. GPS is almost too focused.
Yes, I did buy a map and now I know that there are only three ways to get to I-5 from our house and two involve the ferry! It’s like living on an island.
In Portland there are so many bridges and dozens of ways to get to the same place. Rural Willamette Valley, not so much.
Have a great day,
Karen
