It was a fun day on the water when our neighbor Nick invited us to go tubing in his boat. Michael couldn’t come because this is his busy time of year with work. We went to a place called Rogers Landing in Newberg. Isn’t it beautiful? We are on the Willamette River which runs northbound between the Coast Range to the west and the Cascade Range to the east.
Joshua went first,
He is ready to start.
Hold on tightly!
Looks like a lot of fun.
Oops, just noticed Joshua doesn’t have a life jacket on. Time to stop. Nicholas’ turn.
Whoo Hoo!
That is a BIG smile.
Now, the rest of the story… Nick our neighbor, made a sharp turn (more fun for the kids) but I was sitting in the one spot that didn’t have any handles to hold onto. I fell out of my seat and my knee hit a latch that locked a compartment and ripped a large slice of skin off my knee. It actually didn’t hurt but it was gross to look at. I forced them to drop me at the dock so they could keep tubing. I called Michael and he came and doctored me up and took me home. That was a week ago. My knee still doesn’t hurt much (unless I accidentally kneel on it ) The bleeding and weeping is now down to not much at all. I’m 50 years old, I though once I graduated High School I would be done with scabby knees.
The start of school is approaching quickly. Joshua starts his sophomore year on his 16th birthday.
Have a great week,
Karen

So, life continues to be good on Laughter Lane … And by now, hopefully, even the knee.
